Mentoring Program

The mentorship program came to fruition at the 4th New England Minority Leadership Conference in 2018. The program is a component of a greater mission to advance
minority leadership in nursing. We aspire to develop diverse leaders to advocate and close gaps in healthcare for persons of color. We recognize the difficulty that minority nurses and student nurses face during their
academic and professional journey. Connecting mentees to minority leaders for mentoring provided support and inclusivity for student nurses and current nurses.

Through the mentorship relationship, mentees received support and opportunities to enhance their leadership experiences as mentors continued to grow in their leadership roles. The reciprocal relationship has demonstrated growth and opportunities for both
mentors and mentees.
